John Robert Jack Burnham

John Robert Jack Burnham January 18, 1918 – December 13, 2016

After 98 well-lived years Jack died in peace on the evening of December 13, 2016 with his grateful and loving family by his side. Jack is the beloved husband of Mary, and of Dorothy who predeceased him in 1994, the devoted father of Carol (John) and Judy, cherished grandfather of Shauna (Nick), Michael (Wendy), Naomi, Jasmyn, and Julia, and adoring great-grandfather of Chloe and Avery. After a happy childhood in Sutton with siblings and friends that he loved his entire life, Jack went overseas to serve in the RCAF at Linton-on-Ouse bomber airfield in England during World War II. Upon his return he worked for many years for York County Public Health before retiring to a rich and full life of carpentry, carving, gardening, and birdwatching in rural Queensville.
Visitation will be on Friday December 16th from 4:00 – 8:00pm at Taylor Funeral Home, 524 Davis Drive, Newmarket, 905-898-2100. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 17th at 11:00am at the Queensville Holland Landing United Church, 20453 Leslie Street, Queensville.
In lieu of flowers please consider a donation in his name to the Salvation Army, his long-time favourite charity, or to a charity of your choice.
