Obituary for John “Jack” Hooper
HOOPER, John “Jack” Lorrie – Passed away peacefully in his 81st year, at home surrounded by his loving family following a lengthy illness, on Tuesday, November 7th, 2017. Beloved husband of the late Carolyn “Carol” A. Hooper (nee Shane) (2012). Survived by his children Diane Roberts (Mary-Anne), Christopher (Jackie) and Paul (Caitlin). Treasured grandfather of Lindsay, Madeleine, William, Simon, Sydney, Spencer, Elliott and Frances, and great grandfather of Nolan and Eva . Survived by his sister Patricia (Rick) Roi. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his infant son Mark, brothers Ronald (2013) and Larry (2013). Jack was a longtime employee with Bell Canada, a member of College Avenue United Church, and a member of the Mercer Wilson Masonic Lodge #678, Woodstock. Friends may visit with the family at the Brock & Visser Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock 519-539-0004 on Friday November 10th 2017 from 6-8 pm. A memorial service will be held at College Avenue United Church, 22 Wilson Street Woodstock, on Saturday November 11th 2017 at 1:00 pm, followed by a light reception. Cremation has taken place, and a private interment being held at a later date. If desired, contributions to the Alzheimer’s Society, Oxford County Branch, or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated. Online condolences at www.brockandvisser.com A Masonic Lodge service under auspices Mercer Wilson Lodge #678 Woodstock will be held Friday night at 5:30 pm at the funeral home.
