With heavy hearts we share news that John has passed away on Sunday, March 19, 2017 with his family along side him & comforting him in Long Term Care Centre in Wetaskiwin.
He will be deeply & lovingly missed by his loving wife of 61 years, Lavonne Elpha; his daughter & son-in law, Melody & Byron Deardoff; grandchildren, Kirk and Natasha; great granddaughter, Malauni.
Sisters-in law and brothers-in law, Alvina & John Krieger, Audrey & Val Hilker. Sister and brother- in law, Ruby & George Wallace; brother, Ron Guss as well as many nieces, nephews and dear friends
Extended family, Sherri, Akeera, Leyara Deardoff, Karlee, Steve, Rylin, Dawson, Emily and Lane Prins.
John was predeceased by his son, Guy Guss in 1976; brother, Orvie Guss in 2015; nephew, Terry Guss in 2016.
John will always be remembered fondly for his sense of humor, kindness, warm heart & smile. His love of curling, dancing, fishing, camping & dedication to his family.
The family would like to express their upmost gratitude to all the Long Term Care staff at Ponoka Northcott & Long Term Care staff at Wetaskiwin Hospital & Care Centre for looking after John with grace & kindness.
Our Lives Shall Be Emptier For His Absence, Because They Were Made Fuller By His Presence.
Cremation has taken place. A Memorial & Blessing will be held with family at Red Willow, Alberta in May.
