John Harold Lingley
John H. Lingley, 95, of Lakeview Manor, Riverview and
formerly of Church Court, Moncton, passed away peacefully at his
residence on Tuesday, February 7, 2017. Born in Westfield, he was the
son of the late Howard and Laura (Lingley) Lingley. John was Veteran
of WW II, having served with the R.C.A.F. and was a member and
Honorary Vestryman of St. George’s Anglican Church and St.
Andrew’s Anglican Church.
He was a member of and Past Master of Acacia Lodge # 49, F.
& A.M., Moncton; Past First Principal of Botsford Chapter # 7,
R.A.M.; Past Thrice Illustrious Master of Tantramar Council # 8, R.
& S.M.; Past Grand Noah of Monckton Lodge of Royal Ark
Mariners; Past Preceptor of Ivanhoe Preceptory # 36, K.T.; Past
Sovereign of McLeod-Moore Conclave, K.R.C. of C.; member of the N.S.
Grand Council of Anointed High Priests and Past Principal of N.B.
Grand Council of Anointed High Priests; member of Victoria Tabernacle
#52, St. Andrew’s Tabernacle #85 and Northumbria Tabernacle
#111, (Past High Priest) H, R.A.K.T.P.; member of Loyalist York Rite
College #98; Past Prior of Eastern Canada Priory #19, K.Y.C.H.; member
of Convent General, K.Y.C.H.; member of Frank H. Tingley Chapter # 5,
O.E.S.; Past Jr. Grand Warden, Grand Lodge of N.B.; Past

S.M.
John will be sadly missed by his nephews, Howard Lingley of
Sarnia, ON and John “Spike” Nason of Kirkland, P.Q.; niece,
Judy Arbo of Grand Bay. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased
by brothers, Stanley, Kenneth, Russell and Walter and by sisters,
Laura, Jeanette and Helen. John was the last surviving member of his
immediate family.
A Memorial Service for John will take place from St.
George’s Anglican Church, Moncton, later in the spring. A
spring interment will be held at St. Peter’s Anglican Church
Cemetery, Woodman’s Point, NB.
Arrangements are under the professional care of Fergusons
Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995).
In memory of John, donations to the St. George’s
Anglican Church Memorial Fund would be appreciated by the family.
