Remembering John…
HARSTONE, John Frederick Bruce – Passed away on November 22,
2017 at Tufford Manor. Loving husband of Marlyin Harstone (nee Roode). Beloved
father of Kim Vaughan (Jim), Kathy Stout (Chris) and David Harstone (Alicia)
and step-father of James Lynds (Sheila) and Jason Lynds (Debbie). Cherished
Grandpa of Joelle, Jaylin, Caleb, Jacob, Ava, Owen, Payton, Ryley, Justice,
Cameron, Rachel, Victoria and Emma. Survived by his sister Isabel Alexander
(Murray). Predeceased by his parents Hester and John “Jack” Harstone. Will be
remembered by his mother-in-law Margaret Roode and brothers-in-law; Donald
Roode (Carol) and Eugene Roode (Bonnie). Heartfelt appreciation to the staff at
Tufford Manor for their compassionate, kind and professional care of John
during this past year. In accordance with John’s wishes, cremation has taken
place. Friends will be received at PLEASANTVIEW FUNERAL HOME (2000 Merrittville
Hwy, Thorold 905-892-1699) on Saturday, November 25, 2017 from 11 am – 12
o’clock followed by a memorial service to celebrate John’s life at 12 o’clock
in the funeral home chapel. Private interment to follow. If desired, memorial
donations to the charity of your choice would be appreciated. Share valued
