John Dewick Cluff, a long time resident of Victoria Place, Bobcaygeon, passed away peacefully after a brief illness at the age of 88 on Wednesday February 22, 2017 at Southlake Regional Health Centre in Newmarket. John was born in Valleyfield, Quebec on January 31, 1929. He was predeceased in 2015 by his beloved wife of 62 years, Audrey (née Reddick). He was the son of John Austin Cluff and Sarah Ada Elizabeth Cluff (née Dewick). He worked for Dominion Textile for his entire career starting in the lab before progressing to become a Managerial Accountant working mainly in Montreal and Magog, Quebec. He provided consulting services in Europe, Asia and Africa during his career. He enjoyed the outdoors and loved travelling with his wife Audrey, especially in their various trailers and fifth wheels. He curled for 75 years remaining active in the Bobcaygeon club until his death. He and Audrey loved their series of Cocker Spaniels. John will be missed by his son and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Carol Cluff of Uxbridge, and his granddaughters Alanna Cluff of Barrie and Lauren Cluff of Toronto. He is predeceased by his brother Charles McKie Cluff of Huntingdon, Quebec.
As per John’s wishes, he will be cremated and no funeral will be held. Instead friends and family are invited to gather and share memories at THE HENDREN FUNERAL HOMES MONK CHAPEL, 6 HELEN STREET, BOBCAYGEON on Saturday March 4, 2017 from 2:00 – 4:00PM. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
