Life Story for Joan Marie Ives (Doerr)
IVES, Joan Marie (Doerr) –
Passed away peacefully on Friday, November 17, 2017, at the Greater Niagara General Hospital. Beloved wife of the late Donald (Bucky) Ives. Loving mother of David (Pauline) of Niagara Falls and Daniel (Trish) of Calgary. Cherished grandmother of Jordana (Jordan) Hernder, Taylor Ives, Ryan (Jessica) Ives and Courtney Prisque and great grandmother of Ava and Joeylynn. Dear sister of Gerry (Muriel) Doerr, Sheila (Joe) Belli, Ron (Loise) Doerr, late Brian (Dianne) Doerr, and Harold (Lona) Doerr. Well loved aunt “AJ” to many nieces and nephews. Joan was a proud member and Past Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 142. Joan was actively involved with Holy Trinity Church in Chippawa, proudly serving on the Altar Guild for the past 40 years. Joan was happiest spending time travelling with family and friends on many excursions throughout Western New York. She also loved to return “up home” to visit with family and friends. The family greatly appreciated the quality of care and compassion given by Dr. Dec and the entire staff of GNGH.
The family will receive friends at MORSE & SON FUNERAL HOME, 5917 Main St. on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. A memorial service under the auspices of the Order of the Eastern Star will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 7 p.m. A service to celebrate Joan’s life will be held at Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Chippawa, on Thursday, November 23, 2017 at 10 a.m. Burial to follow in the Church Cemetery. Those who wish may make a memorial donation to Holy Trinity Church. Memories, photos and condolences may be shared at www.morseandson.com
