Joan was born and lived all of her life in Port Hope, where she met and married a young, handsome soldier, Ron, after he returned from WWII. While being busy as a stay-at-home mom to three, then four, and then eight children, Joan also was a committed member and Elder at St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church and spent most of her adult life participating and leading the women’s group and the many catering and charitable events there. Her life of giving to the community included, participation and leadership of Brownies and Girl Guide groups, the Companions Group, and as a Legion Associate member for over 25 years. Our fondest memories included her joy of golfing, knitting, supporting the Blue Jays, and her “Happy Hour” with cherished friends and family. Our sincerest thanks to all who touched her and our overwhelming prayers of thanks to God for her long life which touched many. A heartfelt thank you to all of our many friends and extended family for your loving support.
