It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Joan Blackburn on November 15, 2017 at the age of 80 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease.
Joan leaves to mourn 6 children, Marie Blackburn (Darcy), Bob Blackburn (Kim), Carol Guy (Greg), Ron Blackburn (Wendy), Therese Blackburn (Glenn), Alice Arsenault (Andre). 6 grandchildren, Chauntelle Blackburn (Ryley), David Blackburn (Matilda), Brandon Bishop (Breanna), Aaron Guy (Amanda), Victoria Goodenough (Riley), Adrien Guy (Coral), and 3 great grandchildren, Westin, Kiera and Katie. Joan also leaves to mourn her sister, Barbara Cady, and brother William Jackson Jr. (Eleanor). Joan was predeceased by her husband; Frank Blackburn (2005); Paul Blackburn (1998), Parents; William Jackson (2005), Doris Jackson (1992) and sister Bette Farr-Jones (2001)
A visitation will be held at Serenity Funeral Service North Chapel, 10129 Princess Elizabeth Avenue on Friday, November 17, 2017 from 10:00am – 11:00 am with an informal Celebration of life luncheon to be held at St. Michael’s Extended Care Facility (Alberta Room), 2nd Floor, 7404 139 Avenue, Edmonton. A private interment to follow.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Michael’s Extended Care Society, 7404 139 Avenue, Edmonton, Alberta, T5C 3H7, dluciw@smhg.ca
