Jim Tuckey - August 30

Jim Tuckey – August 30, 1962 – July 1, 2017

Obituary for Jim Tuckey
Tuckey, James Allan – It is with broken hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved Jim (Buzz) Tuckey at the age of 54. Buzz was born on August 30, 1962 to the late Fred Tuckey and Ann (Andy) Gelinas. He is also survived by his devoted loving wife, Angela, his beloved children, Justin (Courtney May), Taelor (Jeff), and his step-son Ed Gilgeous. He will be greatly missed by his brothers, Jeff and Jerry (Cheryl), along with many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Predeceased by his grandma and grandpa Lucas and grandma and grandpa Tuckey and his infant baby sister, Joanne. Buzz also had an “extended family”, who will always be in his heart and watchful gaze: Co (Kara) Langlois, his beloved Brooklyn “Cricket”, Nick Gibbons (Melissa), Tommy Abrahams, Lonnie Cope, Donny Campbell, Ann Garrett and Mike Zondervan, who, without question, were always there to either help him, fix what he needed help with, or call or stop in, sit with him, and who were tirelessly there for Jim and Angela. Jim worked hard his entire life, always helping someone, tinkering with the latest car, truck or motorcycle. He spent a lot of his leisure time working on, or creating the ‘next big thing’. Buzz worked at Waltec for 22 years; he did that for his family. More recently he worked for South West Fence and Deck where he had many friends and was greatly proud to work with his other kid, Co. He was especially proud of the job he did cutting grass for Petrolia. He’s been checking it out guys, you missed a bit! Buzz always said “If the grass looked good, the town looked good”. He will be missed greatly by all who knew him and loved him. His best friend, Triggur, is missing his car rides to check the grass, his walks in the park and their traditional Timbit treats. At Jim’s request, there is no formal funeral or visitation. A private celebration of life will take place at a later date. The family would like to thank the staff at Bluewater Health for their excellent care and the wonderful compassion they demonstrated at the time when we needed it most. Thanks to Dr. Malthaner for giving Buzz another year, and to Dr. Madison and the Palliative team, Dr. Yoshida, Dr. Yu and Dr. Sanatani for your dedication. To honour the legend of Buzz (as many said he was), donations may be made to Bluewater Health Foundation Palliative Care Unit (www.bwhf.ca).
