At home, surrounded by his family, Kenneth James Etue passed away on Saturday, June 17, 2017. Born on December 17, 1947, Jim’s 69 year journey through life was blessed with the love and caring of family and friends. Loving husband of Agnes (nee Ryan), devoted father of Michael (Erin Autio) Etue of Baden, Michelle (Josh) Phipps of Toronto, and Melissa (Brian) Yakeley of Stouffville. Grandpa Jim will be fondly remembered by his grandchildren Lukas, Bridget, Bradley and Nicholas Etue, and Emily and Travis Yakeley. Jim is also survived by his siblings Patricia Etue and Donald Etue, sister-in-law Rosemary Etue, as well as Agnes’ siblings Patricia (Bob) English, Harry (Pat) Ryan, Rosemary Regier, Joyce (Ric) McGratten, Gerald (Karen) Ryan, John (Corine) Ryan and Rick (Brenda) Ryan. Jim’s spirit will be reunited in heaven with his granddaughter Adah Marie, his parents Kenneth and Veronica, his brother Thomas, nieces and nephews Ryan, Sara, Paul and Doug and brother-in-law Ken Feeney. Jim served his community for many years on Seaforth’s Main Street as a State Farm Insurance Agent.
With consideration and respect for the future well being of humanity, Jim has donated his body for medical research.
A Memorial Mass will take place at St. James Roman Catholic Church on Saturday, June 24, 2017, at 11 a.m. with Father Clare Coleman officiating, followed by a reception at the Seaforth Legion, 123 Main Street South, Seaforth from 12:30 p.m. until 3:30 p.m.
As expressions of sympathy the family would appreciate memorial donations to St. Elizabeth Health Care, St. James Church Building Fund, or Seaforth Community Hospital Foundation and can be made through McGlynn Family Funeral Home, 519-527-1390.
