Jennifer was born in Halifax, on June 4, 1969 to the late Gerald David Tanton and Louise Hallett (Ritchie). She graduated from Dartmouth High School (’87), earned a Kinesiology degree from Dalhousie (’98) and a Bachelor of Education degree from Mount Saint Vincent University (2013).
