Obituary for Jennie Conrad
Jennie Kathleen Conrad, 101 of Lunenburg passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 05, 2017 in the Mahone Nursing Home, Mahone Bay.
Born in Bridgewater on February, 1, 1916 to parents, William and Ida (Oickle) Conrad.
Jennie is survived by her son, Rodney (Donna); granddaughters, Andrea and Jennifer (Allister) MacAulay and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Andrew (!984); brothers, Harold, Murray, Owen and Ivan; sisters, Olive MacKinnon, Hazel Wile and Doris Richard.
Jennie was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Lunenburg and spent most of her working life at the Bluenose Lodge in Lunenburg. She was an excellent baker and cook and the family and friends could not wait for Christmas for her extra special treats.
The family would like to express to the staff of Mahone Nursing Home their appreciation for all the kindness and special attention she received in the six plus years she resided there.
A service to celebrate Jennie’s life will be held, 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 15, 2017 at the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral home, 11213 Hwy. # 3, Lunenburg, Rev. Rick Pryce, officiating. Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Lunenburg.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the charity of choice.
