Jean passed away at Grey Bruce Health Services in Meaford on Monday, August 7, 2017 at the age of 74.
Beloved wife of Larry Weland for 54 years. Loving mother of Greg (partner Will Gott), Chris, Jon (wife Dana) and grandmother of Chris’ children Joshua, Caleb and Lukas, and Jon/Dana’s son Wyleigh. Dear sister-in-law of Diane and Ron Lippert of New Hamburg and Douglas and Susan Weland of Winnipeg.
Predeceased by her parents Edward and Barbara (nee Kropf) Oakley and brother Eddie Oakley.
Jean was a long time member of St. Agnes RC Church in Waterloo where she was Past President of the Catholic Women’s League.
Her strength of spirit, and passion to love unquestionably, carried her through many years of physical set backs caused by severe Rheumatoid arthritis, yet her undying and relentless commitment to family and friends is what will be remembered and cherished. She was truly a remarkable wife, mother, grandmother and friend, and will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
