It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our cherished husband, Papa, Grand-Papa, Brother, Mn’Oncle and friend on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at 70 years. Born in Grand Sault, NB. He was the loving husband of Juliet (née Sylvestre) and cherished Papa of Gisèle Pillon (Daniel) and Malika Nunes (Carlos). Adored Grand-Papa of Gabrielle, Sébastien, Xavier, Félix, Laurier and Solange. Dear son of the late Fernande and Auguste. Brother of Réjeanne Buckley (Dan), Claire Thornton (Barry), Michel (Diane), Bernard (Tina), and Suzanne Prentice (Pat). Brother-in-law of Madeleine Barrette (Eugène), Gérald Sylvestre (Joanne) and Doreen Barrette (late Françis). Jean-Yves was a passionate teacher at Pavillon des Jeunes and St. Thomas of Villanova. He was inspired to help others in need and lived his life in a way that serves as an example to others. Cremation has taken place. Visiting will be held at Visitation Parish, 5407 Comber Side Road, Comber on Monday, March 27, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. The Mass of the Resurrection will follow at 6:00 p.m. A burial will take place at St. Simon and St. Jude Cemetery on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. If desired, memorial donations made to Gord Downie Fund for Brain Cancer Research or the Hospice of Windsor-Essex County would be appreciated by the family.
