Jean Shella Beers
Jean S. Beers, 82, of Irishtown, passed away peacefully at
The Moncton Hospital on Monday, November 27, 2017. Born in Pine Ridge,
she was the daughter of the late Wilburt and Ethel (Flanagan)
Cail.
In her younger years, Jean worked as a cook at a lumber camp
with her sister, Maggie; then at the coffee shop in The Moncton
Hospital and at Canada Packers in the fruit and vegetable departments.
She was a fantastic cook, sold baked goods to several customers. Then
she became a foster parent, bringing 25 children through her
doors.
Jean was a former operator of Foster Parent Special Care Home
and attended McLaughlin Drive Church of the Nazarene.
She enjoyed knitting, sewing, working in her garden and
flowers, reading and music. Jean especially enjoyed doing crafts with
her grandchildren and spending time with her family and
friends.
Jean will be sadly missed by her children, Carol-Ann
Davey-Gallant (Romeo) of Irishtown, Penny McKinney (Michael) of Notre
Dame, Veda White (Richard) of Moncton, Gary Beers (Rhonda) of
Lakeville, Roger Fournier (Lisa) of Moncton, David Ouellette of Dieppe
and Wanda Barnaby of Cape Breton Road; grandchildren, Angela, Mikie,
Danny, Tami, Christopher, Shawn, Amanda, Crissy and Gary; great
grandchildren, Hayden, Layne, Alex, Mikey, MacKenzie, Connor,
Nicholas, Caleb, Hailey, Emma, Monica, Julien, MaKayla, Hunter, Ellie
and Liam; special friend, Wanda Warner; caregiver / friend, Shirley
McKnight; several nieces, nephews and extended family members. Jean
was the last surviving member of her immediate
family.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her
husband, Ivan R. Beers (2006); daughter, Linda Lewis; grandson,
Quentin; granddaughter, Juanita (2006); brothers, Robert, Arnold,
Melvin, Walter and Horace; sisters, Laura, Maggie, Dorothy, Annie,
Ruth, Alverna and Betty; close friend, Arnold
Beers.
Visitation at Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road,
Moncton (858-1995) on Thursday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm.
A Service to celebrate and honour Jean’s life will be held
at Fergusons Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, December 1, 2017 at 11:00
am. A reception will follow in the Funeral Home Reception Centre
following the service. Interment will be in Fair Haven Memorial
Gardens.
In memory of Jean, donations to McLaughlin Drive Church of
the Nazarene or a memorial of the donor’s choice would be
