Obituary for Jean Elizabeth Ward (McBain)
Ward, Jean Elizabeth
Jean passed away with family by her side in her 84th year at the F.J. Davey Home in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. She will be lovingly remembered by her children James Ward of Sault Ste, Marie, ON, Margaret Cacciotti (Renzo) of Sault Ste. Marie, ON, Patricia Ward (Bob) of Desbarats, ON and Leonard Ward of Sault Ste. Marie, ON. She leaves her grandchildren Wendy Desjardins (Jim), Robert Ward, Jennifer Ward, Stephen Ward, Pamela Stobie Wellwood (Roger), Jessica Ross (Jerry), Andrew Torrance (Jessica), Lucas Torrance (Chrissy), Daniel Gignac (Alyssa) and Patrick Gignac. She also leaves great grandchildren Riley Fisher, Rebecca Wellwood, Rachel Wellwood, Conner Torrance, Carma Torrance, Nicholas Ross, Koen Ward, Gage Grassy and Luca Gilbert. Jean was predeceased by her parents William and Margaret McBain (the late William Bird) and her siblings Alex McBain and Ronald Bird. She will be missed by numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Jean’s passing has saddened the family. She was an amazing mother, grandmother, sister and friend who made those around her smile. She showed love and kindness to all and was never afraid to help those in need. She was our “soul compass” and held our family together filling each of our lives with happy and joyous memories. With courage, Jean faced and fought Alzheimer’s disease till the very end of her life.
The family would like to thank the staff at the F.J. Davey Home who lovingly cared for Jean.

A visitation will be held at the Beggs Funeral Home 705-842-2520 in Thessalon, ON on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 from 1pm to 3pm with a service immediately following. Nancy Ferguson officiating. Cremation to follow. Arrangements entrusted to Beggs Funeral Home www.beggsfh.com
