Jean Alice Larson (Caughey) – 1925 – 2017

Obituary for Jean Larson
LARSON, Jean Alice
April 26, 1925 – September 10, 2017
Jean had a stroke on September 6, 2017 and spent her last days, comfortably, under the care of the staff at Seton Age Care. She squeezed our hands with a strong grip and was as witty as ever with her enduring clichés, until the end. Steffie, her daughter read some of her favorite poems to her as she passed through the vail, Sunday Morning, September 10, 2017. The sky was bright and clear and we could see “Her mountains”! The youngest of 12 children, Jean Alice Caughey was born in Perham, Minnesota. She was the first woman admitted to the University of Minnesota – School of Mines and Engineering. This is where she met her husband Forrest D Larson, who passed away 2 years ago. She was a woman ahead of her time and a friend to many. She leaves behind a loving family, children Scott F Larson and Daniel D Larson, both living in Florida and Stephanie Christmann, San Diego, California. She has 11 grandchildren and many great and great-great-grandchildren. She will be missed by all who knew her. She was always full of life and as she said “There was never a dull moment”.
