Obituary for Janette Tarr
Janette (Jane) Rachel Tarr (nee Dropko), age 67, of Lorette Manitoba, died on Monday, January 30, 2017 at 3:25 am at Ste. Anne hospital after a long struggle with cancer. Jane was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on December 31, 1949 to Micheal and Joanne Dropko. Jane married her husband of 38 years, Alan H. Tarr on September 8, 1979 in Calgary Alberta. She was one of the first women to study drafting at Tech-Voc High School between the years of 1965-1967. Jane worked in medical photography at the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg and was a tireless blood donor for the Canadian Red Cross Society, earning herself a certificate of generosity.
Jane loved working with her hands. She was an avid seamstress, loved gardening, particularly growing roses and enjoyed carpentry, knitting, crochet and photography.
Jane is survived by her loving husband Alan H. Tarr, daughters Sherri and Deryn, step-son Alexander, grandchildren McKeagan, Conlan, Juliette, Sydney and Lena, mother Joanne, sisters Karen and Sharon and several nieces and nephews. Jane was preceded in death by her father Michael, brother Ken, step-father Thomas and sister-in-law Diane.
A memorial service will be held for Jane at Wheeler Funeral Home, 1800 Day St. in Winnipeg on Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at 1pm.
