Obituary for Jane Eileen Rees-Kato
Mrs. Jane Eileen Rees-Kato joined her angels at the Red Deer Hospice on Monday, October 2, 2017 at the age of 68 years. Jane was born at Eckville, Alberta on February 23, 1949. While growing up in Red Deer, Jane developed a love and passion for art. She lived in Edmonton and Calgary, Alberta and Saitama-Ken, Japan. Jane is survived by her loving husband, Yoichi Kato; her brother, Walter Rees; and sisters, Mary Ann Steele and Brenda Funk. She will also be deeply missed by sixteen nieces and nephews, twenty-one great nieces and nephews, one great great niece, and Yoichi’s mother and brother. Jane was predeceased by her parents, Elmer and Isabel Rees and sister, Margaret Rees. In memory of Jane’s vibrant personality please wear bright colours. A Memorial Service will be held at The Centre for Spiritual Living, 6315 Horn Street, Red Deer Alberta on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. If desired, Memorial Donations in Jane’s honor may be made directly to the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre, care of Unit 32 at www.rdrhfoundation.com/donate-now, or to the Red Deer Hospice Society at www.reddeerhospice.com.
