It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of James Michael Ryan, known to all as Jim, on September 8, 2017. Jim passed away peacefully surrounded by family. Jim was predeceased by his mother Mary Margret Kielly, his brother Clarence Ryan, beloved Uncle Gene Kielly, and his father Michael Joseph Ryan. Jim loved life, his dogs, his family, and the outdoors. He was called to his maker way too early for those he left behind and way too early for him; he had a lot of things left to do in life. We will miss him dearly but it gives us comfort to believe that Jim is having a beer with his beloved mother by the side of a pond watching a bobber on the water surface waiting for the trout to catch the line. She loved the things Jim loved, dogs and the outdoors; kindred spirits. Jim will be forever in the heart and thoughts of many, including: his surviving siblings Corrina St. Croix (Jim’s angle on earth), Michelle Pennell, Geri Ryan, and Jody Ryan (Juanita); his nieces and nephews: Juanita Froggatt (Mark), Amanda Thorne (Lloyd), Candis St. Croix (Travis MacDougall), Shyla, Mathew, Keisha, Aaron, Taylor, Johnny, Christopher, Megan, Vanessa and Jacob; two special girls in Jim’s life, Jeanette and Jennifer; his many aunts, uncles, great nieces and nephews, and friends. On the behalf of Jim’s family, heartfelt thanks are extended to Dr. Boone and the nurses and staff of the Health Sciences Center, 4th floor North B who cared for Jim during his illness and who showed him great respect. Jim appreciated everything that was done for him, every conversation you had with him, and the time you spent with him. Jim’s passion in life was his dogs (Jack, Abby, Sheba, and Mittens) who gave him companionship in his life. Expressions of sympathy or donations can be made in Jim’s memory to any organization of your choosing who cares for and protects pets. Cremation has taken place. A private family service and celebration of Jim’s life will take place at a later date.
