Obituary for James Belding
September 20, 1928 – May 10, 2017
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of James “Jim” Belding on May 10, 2017, in Birch Hills, SK at the age of 88 years. Jim was born September 20, 1928, and passed away peacefully in his sleep. Jim worked for many years as a taxidermist, and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Prior to taxidermy, Jim worked as a farmer and bus driver. He also became a pilot and loved to tell stories of his flying days. Jim is survived by his wife: Olga Belding; his son: Logan (Penny) Belding; his stepchildren: Adele (Peter) Boychuk, Edward Traskowski, Deloris (Don) Fjeld, and Florian Traskowski; as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Jim is predeceased by his parents: Myron and Ella Belding; and his brother: Chester Belding. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, May 17, at 2:00 pm at the Birch Hills Senior’s Centre, with interment at a later date. We wish to extend our deepest thanks to Birchview Home for the excellent care they provided for Jim these past years. In lieu of other tributes, donation in memory of Jim may be made to Birchview Auxillary.
