Brown, James Arlington “Jim”
Jim passed away peacefully at the CKHA-Chatham Campus on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at the age of 69.
He was a retired captain of the Chatham-Kent Fire Department.
Jim was born in Chatham and was the son of Elsie (Abbott) Brown of Chatham and the late Edward Brown (1991).
Beloved spouse of Dianne Caryn (Latimer) of Mitchell’s Bay.
Dear father of David Brown & Amanda Terry of London, Julie and Phil Stoffyn of Chatham and step-father of Christine and Ben DeVito of Chatham and Justin and Cortney Caryn of Brampton.
Special “Ampa” and “Punkin” of Jordan, Megan, Jacob, Jessica, Faith, Rowyn and Grey.
Kind brother of Bill and Clare Brown of Winnipeg, Bob and Donna Brown, Jon Brown (the late Rosie Caron), Lynne Maw, Dennis and Carol Brown and Dale and Bonnie Brown all of Chatham.
Also surviving is Dianne’s siblings, Connie and Ron Brand of Petrolia, Judy Kerkhof of Wallaceburg and Wayne and Delynne Latimer of Sarnia.
The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham, ON, on Friday, September 15, 2017 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
The funeral service will be held at McKinlay Funeral Home, on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Colin Paterson, officiating.
Interment will be in Dresden Cemetery.
Donations in memory of Jim to the Ontario Professional Firefighters Association Retirees Cancer Claim Fund or the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
