Jack Kenny Holder – 1937 – 2017

It is with deep hearts that we announce the passing of a proud husband, father and grandfather. Jack Holder passed away peacefully with family by his side at Fairmount Home in Glenburnie early Sunday September 10th. Jack will be missed dearly by his wife Patricia, daughter Karen Holder Rendell (Wallace) and granddaughter Erin Rendell. Predeceased by his daughter Tracey Lynne Holder (Pete). Will be missed by sisters Julie Holder and Joan Rowe. Brother in law to John Oldale and Bud Rowe. Jack will be remembered by many extended family and friends.
A special thanks has to be made to Bob Saunders and the staff at 1-South at the Fairmount Home. Bob enabled Jack to live with his family at home for the last 3 years of his life. This could not have been possible without Bob’s compassion and his exceptional care for Jack. Bob forged a special connection with Jack, for which we are truly grateful.
Jack was a brilliant man who devoted his life to educating and quietly inspiring others. Later in his career, he was the Assistant Warden at the Collins Bay Penitentiary.
He was a skilled wordsmith, punster, and aspiring student of cosmology. His life lessons will be deeply missed. A private burial has taken place for Jack. There will be a visitation in memory of Jack for friends and family at the James Reid Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 12th between the hours of 4-6pm.
In lieu of flowers, the Holder family has asked for donations to be made to Fairmount Home in Glenburnie (Cheques Only) or Canadian Association of Mental Health.
