Passed away peacefully with family by his side at the Brockville General Hospital Charles Street Site on Monday December 12, 2016. Ivan Henry Walter Dixon, at the age of 90 years. Beloved husband of the late Phyllis (Irving) Dixon and cherished father of Earl (Sandi), Arnold (Brenda), Diane Harvey-Hart, Nelson, Donna Worden (Darrell), Dolores Brown (Kevin), Roger and Darlene Jones (Robert). Loving grandfather of 14 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Dear brother of Ruth Walsh and Shirley Shenton (Derrick). Fondly remembered by several brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by his parents Herbert and Janet (Braidwood) Dixon, his grandson Quentin Jones, his great grandson Carter Gurski, sons-in-law Tony Harvey and Bill Hart and by 6 sisters and 3 brothers.
Family and friends may pay their respects at the Barclay Funeral Home, 137 Pearl Street East, Brockville, on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. The Funeral Service in honour and celebration of Ivan’s life will be held in the Chapel on Thursday December 15, 2016 at 11 a.m. Interment will take place at Blue Church Cemetery. In memory of Ivan, donations to the Quentin Robert Jones Endowment Fund at CHEO, the Brockville and District Hospital Foundation Palliative Care or the North Augusta United Church would be gratefully acknowledged by the family.
