It is with sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Isabelle Mary Pike (nee Stapleton), in her 91st year, of St. John’s, formerly of Riverhead, Harbour Grace. Mom was a long-time employee of Hotel Newfoundland. The last of the Stapleton family, Mom died peacefully at the Miller Centre on Thursday, August 31, 2017, with loving family at her side. Predeceased by her husband, Gordon (1995), grandson Christopher Guzzwell (2007), sisters Alice, Lillian, Mary, Cecilia and brothers Joseph and Norman. Leaving to mourn her children: Carol Guzzwell (Keith), Gordon, Mary Pike (John Hodder), Brenda Vaughan (Ken), Robert (Debbie) and Sandra Pike (Gabi Haberfeld); grandchildren: Allison Guzzwell, Robyn Lynn and Jessica Pike, Cynthia and Michael Vaughan; great-grandchildren Carter, Owen and Oakley van den Hanenberg; sister-in-law Frances Fredericksen (Minnesota); nieces, nephews and friends.
