Irene Sarah Borden
Irene S. Borden, 77, of Moncton, passed away
peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on Saturday, July 15, 2017. Born in
Harrisville, she was the daughter of the late Mervyn and Dorothy
(Booth) Maxwell.
Irene was a retired employee of Co-Op Atlantic
(Accounting Department). She was a member of Mountain View United
Church, the Ladies UCW and the Church Choir. Irene enjoyed sewing,
crafts and spending time with family and
friends.
Irene will be sadly missed by her husband, Allan
Borden; children, David Dunston (Fonda) of Penobsquis; Derrick Dunston
(Leta Both) of Petitcodiac and Darla Dunston of Moncton; stepchildren,
Christopher Borden (Lise) of Dieppe, Kelly Taylor of Salisbury and
Craig Borden (Megan) of Lower Coverdale; grandchildren, Matthew,
Benjamin and Cassina Dunston; step grandchildren, Isabelle and
GenevieveBorden, Kirsten Gargan, Brianna Taylor, Melody and
Stephen Borden; sister, Liz Gaffield (Ross) of Toronto, ON; sisters in
law, Rose Maxwell and Mary Maxwell; many nieces, nephews and extended
family members.
In addition to her parents, Irene was predeceased by
her brother, Thomas Maxwell and sister-in-law, Vera
Borden.
Visitation to be held at Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657
Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Tuesday from 2:00 to 4:00 and
7:00 to 9:00 pm. A Service to celebrate and honour Irene’s
life will be held from Fergusons Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday,
July 19, 2017 at 11:00 am with Rev. Danny Compton officiating.
Reception in the Funeral Home Reception Centre following the service.
Interment to be held at Lakeside Cemetery,
Lakeville.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Mountain View
United Church Building Fund or the Diabetes Canada would be
