Irene M. (Lynch) Morrison
1938-2017
Morrison, Irene M. (Lynch) –
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of
Irene Morrison, who died at Bobby’s Hospice on Sunday,
January 29, 2017 after a courageous battle with breast cancer. She
will be dearly missed by family and cherished friends. Born in
Halifax, NS on May 6, 1938, she was a daughter of the late Doris and
Lula (Moore) Lynch.
Irene is survived by her husband, Derek; one daughter, Kelly
Flood (Patrick); sons, Andrew (Antonietta) and Donald Morrison; three
grand-daughters, Kathryn and Claire Flood, and Samantha Morrison;
siblings: Victor, Sherman, Gyde, Carman, Lester, Lillian, Olive,
Verna, Maxine and Shirley; and several nieces and
nephews.
Irene (Granny) touched the hearts of many with her strong
faith and passion for life. She was always on hand for support and
understanding. She found beauty in everyday life, by walking wherever
her feet took her and enjoying the company of anyone she met along the
way. She was a hard worker, and always put the needs of others before
her own. We will always treasure her sense of humour and her
thoughtful and kind ways. We will miss you Irene (Mum, Granny), but
your spirit is forever in our hearts.
The family is very grateful to the entire staff of
Bobby’s Hospice for the care and compassion they offered in
Irene’s final weeks. Cremation has taken place, and a
Celebration of Irene’s life will be held on Friday, February
3, 2017 at 10:00 AM from Brenan’s Funeral Home
Chapel, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424)
with a reception to follow.
As an expression of sympathy, donations can be made to
Bobby’s Hospice or a charity of your choice.
