Obituary of Iona Cogswell
Iona Ruth Cogswell, 86 of Grand View Manor, Berwick, NS, formerly of Lake Paul, passed away November 3, 2017. Born in Lake Paul, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Annie Mae (Young) Lutz.
She was a devoted member of the Morristown Baptist Church for many years. She also loved traveling, fishing and enjoyed square dancing in her younger years. To family and friends, she was a gracious lady that will be forever missed.
Iona’s working career consisted of bookkeeper for H. Cogswell & Son in Southwick, MA and Scotia Ladders Ltd. in Lake Paul, NS. She retired in 1997, after six years working for The Berwick Register.
She is survived by son Bryan Cogswell of Westfield, Mass; daughter Adrienne (Thomas) Gates of Aylesford; grandchildren Andy, Jaimee (Wayne), Kevin, Daryl (Sally), Leanne (Scott), Erica (Alain), Matthew (Mandy); ten great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter.
Iona was predeceased by her loving husband Horace; son Andrew, brothers Irvan, Clifford, Guilford and Oliver; sisters Vera, Hattie and Ruby.
A Funeral Service will be held on Friday November 10, 2017 at 2:00 pm in the Morristown United Baptist Church, interment to follow in the Morristown Cemetery. Family flowers only. Memorial donations may be made to Parkinson Canada. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr. (902-679-2822).
