(January 26 1932 December 28 2017)
BRENNAN, Hugh Francis (Frank)- Passed peacefully away on Thursday, December 28, 2017, surrounded by his pride and joy, his devoted family, Hugh Francis (“Fanny”) Brennan, 85. Predeceased by his loving wife Mary (Myler), his two infant twin daughters Deborah and Donna, his brother Gerry, and son-in-law Jack Hand. Leaving to mourn with saddened hearts his seven children: Frank (Anna), Elizabeth Philpott, Ann Connolly (Keith), Eleanor (Jeff Parsons), Bill (Annemarie), Tina Hand, and Mary (Walter Hammond); his dear sisters Marie Brennan and Carmel Walsh; his fifteen grandchildren of whom he was so deeply proud: Tara, Andrea, and Patrick Brennan; Maria (fiancé Matthew Brennan) and Laura Philpott and their father Kevin; Stephen and Mark Connolly; Tim and Samantha Parsons; Michael, Amy and Jessica Hand; Abigail, Rachael, and Rebecca Hammond; sister-in-law Gertrude Jacobs; his loving nieces and nephews of the Walsh, Low, and Jacobs families, as well as an abundance of relatives and friends including the O’Dea, McGrath, Davis, Cahill and Hearn families; and his card club crowd. Special thanks to Dr. Patrick O’Shea for his comforting presence and guidance, exemplary care, compassion and friendship – he will always hold a special place in our hearts; Dr. Michael Furlong for his kindness and gentle care; his devoted personal caregiver Robert Marshall; and his sweet and thoughtful Community Health nurses Jill Greeley and Melanie Quinlan. Dad instilled and exemplified qualities of love, service, dedication, and faith. Dad believed in the value of service to others. He devoted many years to the scouting movement, Knights of Columbus, the Right to Life Association and the bereavement team of St Pius X Parish. His weekly love and unwavering dedication were to the St. Pius X Parish Choir where his glorious bass voice resounded for over 50 years. Thank you to Dad and Mom for providing us with the beautiful gift of music that we continue to share and foster in our lives every day. Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Visitation Saturday 2-4, 7-9 p.m., Sunday 2-5 p.m. and Tuesday 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Vigil service will take place on Tuesday evening at 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Pius X Church on Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2018 at 9:30 a.m. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Frank’s memory may be made to the Dr. Jack Hand Legacy Foundation, MaterCare International, and St. Pius X Parish. And the Father will dance as on a day of joy!
