Hilda Sloan-Ripley
1927-2017
It is with sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of
Hilda Gertrude Sloan-Ripley, age 89, of
Sackville, NB. Hilda passed away surrounded by her family on
Friday, May 26, 2017 at the Westford Nursing Home, Port Elgin.
Born in Bayfleld, NB, she was a daughter of the late
Wilbur and Edith (Stright) Briggs.
Hilda was a
member of the Sackville United Church. She enjoyed dancing
and was a member of the Tantramar Twirlers Square and Round Dancing
and loved to walk around the Waterfowl Park. She will always
be remembered for her beautiful smile and infectious giggle.
Hilda will be sadly missed by her sons Bill (Kendra)
Sloan, Moncton, Eric (Debbie) Sloan, Murray Corner;
grandsons, Craig, Dustin, and Patrick; granddaughters Shannon, Erin,
and Laura; great grandsons Mason and Maks; daughter-in-law Phyllis
Sloan; step-daughters, Norma (Jim) Fage, Kesswick, NB, Joyce
(Ron) Lynch, Scotsburn, NS, and Charlene (Derek) Wakefield, Grand
Manan.
Besides her parents she was predeceased
by her first husband Bill Sloan, second husband Clayton Ripley, her
eldest son Gary; grandson Gary; sisters Kathleen and Olga Briggs and
brother Cyril Briggs.
Arrangements have been
entrusted to Jones Funeral Home, 70
Bridge St., Sackville, NB (506-364-1300) where visiting hours will
take place on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 from 1 pm until 2 pm, followed
immediately at 2 pm by the funeral service, William Drysdale, DLM
officiating. Following the funeral service, burial will take
place beside her first husband Bill and their son Gary. A
reception will follow back at the Jones Funeral Home reception
area.

Hilda’s memory may do so to the Sackville Memorial Hospital Auxiliary,
the Westford Nursing Home, or a charity of your choice.
