Herbert Wilfred Rene Lock 31 mars 1934 – 16 février 2017

Peacefully at St. Joseph’s Hospital surrounded by his family, Herbert passed away in his 83rd year on Thursday, February 16, 2017. Beloved husband to Jane (nee Rosser) of 58 wonderful years. Loved father of Michael (Beverly), Russell and Colin (Wendy). He will be missed by his grandchildren Jason, Rachel, Steven, Ryan and Andrew. Pre deceased by his oldest son Stephen John, his sister Beverly, nephew Christopher and his parents Bert and Thelma. Uncle Herbie will also be missed by several nieces and nephews, “mostly nephews”. Herbert was a long time resident of Ancaster where he served on the Town Council and was active in youth baseball and hockey. He was a founder of the World Invitational T-Ball Tournament, still held annually in Ancaster. He was passionate about music, serving as a mentor to many young artists as an agent and friend. He will be remembered most fondly for his devotion to his family and his commitment to his community and friends. Friends and family are invited to a visitation on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at DODSWORTH AND BROWN FUNERAL HOME- ANCASTER CHAPEL. A Funeral Service will take place on Thursday, February 23, 2017 at 10 am at St. Ann’s Parish. If desired, donations in Herb’s Memory may be made to St. Joseph’s Health Care Foundation.
