Obituary of Helmut Rybicki
Passed away at Luther Village, Waterloo on Friday, November 24, 2017 at the age of 87 years.
Survived by his wife of 66 years, Anni, his four children Hans Rybicki of Harriston ON, Gary (Carol) Rybicki of Cambridge ON, Linda (Dieter) Turek of Ayr ON, Mike Rybicki of Cambridge as well as his nine grandchildren; Melanie, Dawn, Brandon, Melissa, Matthew, Krista, Daniel, Kurtis and Alex and five great grandchildren; Molly, Isaac, Riley, Joshua and Kaylee.
Helmut was predeceased by his parents Paul and Else Rybicki, sister Inge Rohde all from Germany and his granddaughter, Tanya Kesner in 2016.
Helmut was born in Karo Germany on February 18, 1930. He immigrated to Canada in 1952. He was a long-time resident of Howick Township and lived 50 years on the farm “behind the Creamery”. Over those 50 years, his work changed many times from full-time farmer to full-time carpenter, off the farm and then again to part-time hobby farmer. During the later years on the farm, he had a huge vegetable garden and flocks of chicken, ducks and geese. He lived for 10 years in Listowel before moving to Luther Village in Waterloo earlier this year.
The family will receive guests at the Waterfall Gallery in Luther Village, 141 Father David Bauer Drive in Waterloo on Saturday December 2, 2017 at 1:00 pm followed by a service in the Luther Village Chapel at 2:00 pm.
