Helen Margaret “Hun” MacDonald
1935-2017
Helen Margaret “Hun” MacDonald, 81, of
Hawthorne St., Antigonish passed away peacefully on January 19th 2017
at St Martha’s regional Hospital. Born in Antigonish,
she was the daughter of the late John Angus and Marcella
“Stella” (MacLellan) MacDonald. She is survived by
her brother John E Kelly, sister-In-Law and best friend Trudy Kelly,
aunt and second mother to Jennifer (Darryl) Campbell, Audrey (John),
Antigonish and Blake ( Michelle)
Sydney. Grandnieces Lauren and Chloe Kelly Sydney,
Grandnephew Jesse Campbell, Antigonish and numerous other family,
special companion and protector Biskit. Helen
worked for 35 years at Eastern Dairy Foods/Scotsburn Dairy as a
clerical worker. She enjoyed sitting at the table
having a cup of tea and talking with her family and friends, doing
the Friday lexicon. The door was always
opened and the conversations were always
flowing. She was predeceased by her parents John
and Marcella MacDonald. Thank you to Dr Tania Sullivan and staff at St
Martha’s Regional Hospital for the kind and compassionate care in her
final hours and also to Dr Elizabeth Brennan and staff for always take
great care of her. Visitation 2-4 and 7-9 pm Sunday, January 22 in
MacIsaac Funeral Home, 61 Pleasant St., Antigonish. Funeral Mass
2:00pm Monday in St. Ninian’s Cathedral, Rev. Donald
MacGillivray presiding. Burial will be in the parish cemetery at a
later date. Family flowers only, please, donations to the
SPCA.
