Helen Legere
1931-2016
It is with sadness that we announce the
peaceful passing of Helen Mary Imelda Legere, age 85, of
Sackville. Helen passed away on Sunday, December 4, 2016 at
the Drew Nursing Home.
Born in Middle Sackville, she was a
daughter of the late Dominic and Agnes (Cormier)
Richard.
As a young woman, Helen worked as a
dental assistant in Sackville, and also in Gardner, Massachusetts
where she and Lorne lived for a number of years. In 1974,
they returned to Sackville where she devoted her life to her
family. Love is not “If,” or “because.”
Love is “Anyway,” and “Even though,” and “In
spite of.” Helen loved her family
unconditionally.
She will be dearly missed by her
daughter Celeste Legere, Sackville; grandson, Nick MacKay, Enderby,
BC; brother, Henry (Marina) Richard, Sackville; sister-in-law Elise
“Tootsie” Landry, Sackville.
She was predeceased by her husband Lorne
in 2005; brothers, Albert, John, Leo and Raymond, and a sister,
Mary.
Arrangements have been entrusted to
Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge St., Sackville, NB (506-364-1300) where
visiting hours will be held on Thursday, December 8, 2016 from 1 until
2 pm, followed immediately at 2 pm by the Funeral Liturgy of the Word,
Father Allison Carroll officiating. Burial will take place
in the Holy Rosary Cemetery in the spring.
“We are so lightly here. It is in
love that we are made. In love we disappear.” ~ Leonard
Cohen
