Obituary for Helen Kubbinga (Bailey)
Kubbinga, Helen Clara (Bailey) passed away at Oshawa, Saturday, August 5, 2017 in her 98th year. Beloved wife and lifetime friend of the late Edward (Ted) Kubbinga. Loving mother of Anne Peterson (Bob), Janet Forfar (John) and David (Jan). Cherished grandmother of ten and great-grandmother of eleven and great-great-grandmother of two. Loving sister of Norma (Frank) Hastings and sister in law of Leonard (Dorothy) Kubbinga. Lovingly remembered by her many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brothers Alfred and Gerald and granddaughters Meaghan and Faith. In addition to her career with the Girl Guides of Canada National Office, Helen gave many valuable volunteer hours to her Church, the Needlework Guild of Canada Toronto Branch, Girl Guides and The Toronto East General Hospital. She was especially proud of her position as Honorary Member of the Foundation Board of The Toronto East General Hospital and participated in many successful fundraising campaigns. Missed by all and in our hearts forever. A Memorial Service will be held at the MORRIS FUNERAL CHAPEL, 4 Division St., Bowmanville on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. In Helen’s memory donations to the charity of choice would be gratefully appreciated.
