Helen A. Messer
Helen A. Messer of Strathmore, AB and formerly of Harvey Station, NB
died April 23, 2017 in her 88th. year as a result of pneumonia
complication following major surgery at the Peter Lougheed Hospital,
Calgary, AB.
Helen is survived by her loving, devoted husband, Royden Messer of 63
years. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. In
addition to her husband, she is survived by son Glenwood (Roxanne) of
Hanna, AB, grandson Royden (Jannelle) and great grandson Eli of Bear
River, NS and by son Gordon (Janette) and granddaughters Robyn and
Chelsea of Langdon AB. Also survived by several nieces, nephews, and
cousins.
Helen was predeceased by her mother and father and her seven siblings;
mother-in-law, Lottie Messer; brother-in-law, Herbert Messer, and
sister-in-law, Irene Swan.
Helen will be remembered for her many baby hats, sweaters and booties
she knit for the Knox Presbyterian Church for use of the babies in
Africa.
As per Helens wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be no
viewing or funeral service and a private burial will take place at a
later date.
Donations may be made to the Knox Presbyterian Church, Harvey Station,
NB or a charity of the donor’s choice.
