Eileen was born in Edmonton to Lillian and Harry Vankleek. She married Macdonald Alexander Summersgill on July 1, 1946. Eileen and “Mac” had four children: Sandra (Bob) Murray, Michael (Alison) Summersgill, Richard (Heather) Summersgill, Kim (Doug) Oliver. She had 9 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild. She had five generations of girls. Mom and Dad moved to Calgary in 1963 for the promise of a new job. During that time, her life was with her children, building many happy memories. At the age of 45, Mom went back to school, attending Mount Royal College. She then got a job as a Councillor with Opportunity 45; here she worked for 20 years, retiring at the age of 65. Eileen enjoyed her retirement spending time helping others and doing crossword puzzles. Dad passed away in 2006 and she moved to St.Albert in 2009 to be near her daughter and sisters. We have lost the heart and soul of our family. Thank you Mom, for everything. She will be greatly missed.
