At the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John NB on July 20, 2017 in
the presence of her family and friends, Hazel Patricia (Bates)
Justason, wife of the late Donald E.L. Justason of Pennfield NB
peacefully passed away. Born in Beaver Harbour NB on December 6, 1931,
she a daughter of the late Leverett and Juanita (Eldridge) Bates. A
loving mother, grandmother, aunt and friend, Hazel is survived by one
son: Dr. Stephen Justason of Sussex Corner NB; two grandchildren:
Tyler and Melissa; one niece and three cousins. In addition to her
parents and husband Donald, she was predeceased by a grandson: Jason;
her daughter-in-law: Iris Justason; and by one sister: Norma
Lambert.
Prior to retirement, Hazel worked many years as a Post Master at the
Pennfield Post Office. Her family and friends truly were the center of
her life and she looked forward to cooking for and entertaining
company any chance they had to visit. Hazel loved to keep a tidy home
and yard and always had a “to do list” for her husband
Donnie. Hazel attended the Pennfield Baptist Church and she will be
sadly missed by her family and many long time friends.
Arrangements are in the care of the St. George Funeral Home (755-3533)
26 Portage Street, St. George. A private family visitation will take
place. The public Funeral Service will be held from the Pennfield
Baptist Church on Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Reg Ward
officiating, followed by the interment in Pennfield Rural Cemetery. In
lieu of flowers, remembrances to Charlotte County Cancer or the
Pennfield Baptist Church would be appreciated by the family.
