Hazel Treacy passed away on Monday, December 18, 2017 at the age of 90 years.
Hazel was born in Port Arthur, Ontario (now Thunder Bay) in 1927. She worked at several different jobs throughout her life and then became a Registered Nurses Aid, which is the work that she retired from at the General Hospital shortly before it was shut down. She then spent her time volunteering at the Peter Lougheed Centre.
Hazel is survived by daughter, Maureen Perdue; son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Wanda Burke; daughter, Cheryl Aymont; son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Tita Burke; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Evelyn Falzetta; sister and brother-in-law, Jean and Harvey Carmichael as well as nieces, nephews and extended family.
Hazel was predeceased by her sons, Doug Metsala and Ken Burke.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mark Roman Catholic Church (5552 Madigan Drive NE, Calgary) on December 23, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. Photos, memories and condolences may be shared with Hazel’s family through www.evanjstrong.com.
