Hazel Lillian Jesso
1925-2017
With heavy hearts, the family of Hazel Jesso announce her
unexpected passing on Friday, April 28, 2017 at her residence. Born
October 8, 1925 in Saint John, she was a daughter of the late George
and Alice (Barwick) Harper.
Hazel retired in 1991 from Woolworth’s, where she
worked as a cake decorator for over 30 years. She also worked part
time at the Odeon in her later years. Hazel enjoyed playing cards,
travelling, especially with her daughter and son-in-law, to the sunny
South. Hazel was also known for her special apple pies and her
grandchildren were blessed with the best birthday cakes growing up, as
well as wedding cakes.
Hazel is survived by her daughters, Sharon Martin and Cecelia
Tremblay (Allan); six grandchildren: Deb Tremblay (Chris), Brenda Ross
(Mike), Wayne Martin (Bernice), Michelle Tremblay-Richard (Jason),
Nicolle Grant (Troy), and Terri-Lynn Tremblay (Colin); 14
great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and two nieces,
Leotta and Lois. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her
brothers: George, Arthur, and Raymond; and her son-in-law, Jacques
Tremblay.
Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111
Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on
Monday, May 1, 2017 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. A funeral service will be
held on Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at 10 am from Brenan’s Funeral
Home Chapel. Interment will take place in Fernhill Cemetery.
