Hazel deBoer – 85, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 25th, 2017, at the Halifax Infirmary. Hazel was born in Halifax on March 12th, 1932, the daughter of the late Ludovic (Lou) and Ella (Bowden) Cunningham. Hazel worked for the Municipality of Halifax. Hazel and her late husband Jan (John) spent many happy years selling antiques at the local antique shows, and meeting friends. Hazel is survived by her sister Sandy Murray and Carolyn Sherlock (John) and her brother Donald Cunningham (Sandi), son, Jan (Barbara) deBoer, several nieces, nephews and grandchildren.
Hazel was predeceased by her husband of 51 years, John, her parents, a sister Eleanor MacIsaac (Angie), brothers Douglas and Robert (Janet) Cunningham, stepson Eddie (Linda) deBoer.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 29 from 11-12pm immediately followed by the funeral service at 12 o’clock, all in Atlantic Funeral Home 6552 Bayers Road, Halifax, family flowers only please. Interment in St. John’s Cemetery, Halifax. Memorial donations in memory of Hazel may be made to the charity of your choice.
