MATTHEWS HARVEY L. … At his residence, with his family by his
side on Saturday, November 4th, 2017; Harvey Leroy Matthews of
Wilsons’s Beach, NB; husband of the late Eloise Matthews. Born
on Campobello, he is the son of the late Harold & Mona (Harvey)
Matthews. A resident of Campobello all of his life he worked in his
early years as a fisherman and then went on to work at Connors Bros.
until they closed after which he went to work at Harbour DeLoutre for
many years from where he retired.
Harvey is survived by his son Harvey E. Matthews and his wife
Amanda, his 2 grandchildren Aidan and Chloe, all of Campobello, NB,
many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Harvey was the last surviving member of a family of 15
siblings.
The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to nurse Wendy
Morrison as well as the nurses and staff of extra mural and his nieces
Darlene, Faye, Judy, Pam and Vicki who gave such care and compassion
to Harvey and his family while in their care.
Cremation will take place followed by a graveside service to be
held on Wednesday, November, 8th, 2017 at 1:00 pm. at Wilsons Beach
Cemetery, Head Harbour Road.
Pastor Todd McGuire will officiate. A reception will follow at
the Edith Lank Camp.
In lieu of flowers donations to the Wilson’s Beach Cemetery
Fund would be appreciated by the family. On line condolences to the
