Harry was born in Port Arthur (Thunder Bay), Ontario on January 10, 1925 and attended school there. He worked at various jobs before he started his career at the Fort William (Thunder Bay) Post Office in 1952. This is where he met his future wife Betty and they married on May 21, 1960.
