Gosta Enzio Michael Selander
Michael Selander, 93, of K.E. Spencer Memorial Home, passed
away peacefully at his residence on Thursday, September 7, 2017. Born
in Åland, Finland, he was the son of the late Gosta and
Irina (Sjoberg) Silander.
Michael immigrated to Canada in 1957, settling in Toronto, ON
and then moved to Newfoundland and Moncton. He worked in the
construction industry as a Superintendent and enjoyed woodworking.
Michael will be sadly missed by his wife, Dorothy (Clarke) of
Moncton; daughters, Rose Savage (Shane) of Moncton and Elisabeth Quail
(David) of Toronto; stepson, Brian Clarke of Moncton; six
grandchildren and three step grandchildren; five great grandchildren
and four step great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was
predeceased by his former wife, Mary (Meade); daughter-in-law, Heather
Clarke.
A Service to celebrate and honour Michael’s life
will be held at Fergusons Funeral Home Chapel, 1657 Mountain Road,
Moncton (858-1995) on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at 2:00 pm.
Refreshments following the service. Interment will be at Fair Haven
Memorial Gardens.
In memory of Michael, donations to the Arthritis Society
