Obituary Overview
Lovingly Remembered
It is with considerable sorrow that we announce the passing of Gordon Phil Peterson.
Born and raised in Stirling, Alberta, Gordon moved to Edmonton where he earned a law degree from the University of Alberta, started his law practice, met and married his beloved wife of 56 years Margaret “Peg” Peterson, bought a house and helped raise his three children: Don, Craig, and Carol (Bailey). Gordon was a strong believer in community service, having served as a Kinsmen (former President), a K-40, a Rotarian, and a founding member or Ottewell Community League. Gordon’s passing is mourned by his three children; his son-in-law Joseph Bailey; daughter-in-law Kim Peterson; his grandchildren Marcy Peterson and Michael Peterson; his brothers Ron, Rulon, and Larry; and sister Betty (Harris) as well as the many friends and colleagues who survive him.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Glenwood Funeral Home (South of Wye Road on Range Road 232, Sherwood Park, Alberta). Interment to follow at Glenwood Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada.
