1923-2017
Gordon (John) Rupert Harper, 93, of the Kiwanis
Nursing Home and formerly of Anagance passed away Monday, January 9,
2017 at his residence.
Born in Anagance, he was the son of the late
Harold and Barbara (Bryce) Harper. John worked as a
Stationary Engineer at the Jordan Memorial Home. He loved
fly fishing and tying flies and enjoyed the camp at Miramichi and
working at the sawmill.
Survived and sadly missed by his wife of 63 years
Ida (O’Blenis); sons Murray (Ann), Ronald (Valerie), Paul
(Rose) and Frank (Stephanie) all of Anagance; daughter Leona ++Parlee
of Moncton; nine grandchildren and several nieces and
nephews. Predeceased by brothers Clarence, Aubrey and Earl
and sisters Muriel Brown and Beulah Coates. John was the
last surviving member of his immediate family.
There is no visitation by personal
request. A graveside service will be held at a later date at
the Anagance Cemetery.
If desired, memorials to the Kiwanis Nursing Home
would be appreciated by the family.
