November 25, 2017
Gloria Carol Robinson, (nee Withers). Born June 1, 1929. Died peacefully in her 89th year.
Daughter of the late Lorne and Gladys (nee Smith) Withers. Sister of Calvin (Elspeth) Withers. Wife of the late David James (Jim) Robinson. Mother of Carol (Terry) Todd and Kimberly Arnold. Grandmother of Lindsay (Lucas) Lawson, Christopher (Jennifer) Arnold and Lauren (Bruce) Garner. Great Grandmother of Logan and Laine Lawson, Grayson and Evelyn (Evie) Arnold and Cruz and Arlo Garner.
Gloria was born in Sarnia, Ontario five months before she would be officially recognized as a Person. She attended ‘SCITS’ (Sarnia Collegiate Institute and Technical School). Gloria worked for The Bell as a switchboard operator. She worked there when Hurricane Hazel devastated Sarnia. Gloria was an active member of St. James Anglican Church in St. Marys for many years. She was involved for a time with St. Marys Community Players working backstage on the Props Team. Her favorite musical was The Music Man—she loved listening to Robert Preston sing ‘Seventy-Six Trombones’. She loved to read, do crossword puzzles, knit and drive her car. She will be greatly missed by her family. We promise to behave ourselves.
Family and friends are invited to the ST. JAMES ANGLICAN CHURCH, 65 Church South, St. Marys, on Friday, December 1, 2017 for visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of the Memorial Service 11 a.m. Interment in St. Marys Cemetery.
