Gill Alexander-Assal, [47], died after a brief struggle with bowel cancer on Saturday, March 11, 2017 in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. She was born on March 29, 1969 in Ballymoney, Northern Ireland to William and Ethne Alexander (nee Turner), grew up in Kilrea, NI, and studied at Business Administration at Durham University in England. Gill worked in the tourism industry for several years as a tour guide and flight hostess with British Airways. She later had numerous administrative roles and was the Vice President of Deep View Locates Inc. for four years. In 1999 she married Michael Assal and together they raised their two boys in Washington, DC and Ottawa. She will be remembered as a vivacious and caring person who made an indelible impression on all who had the pleasure of knowing her and will be greatly missed. Gill is survived by her husband Michael, sons Torin and Konstantine, mother Ethne, brother Stephen, and sister Elaine. Funeral services will not be held.
