It is with great sadness that the family of the late Gertrude Bown announce her passing at the James Paton Memorial Health Care Centre on Saturday February 11, 2017 at the age of 91 years. She was predeceased by her husband Howard; son Melvin; daughter Maisie Eileen; infant baby boy; parents Isaac & Rebecca Coles; brothers: Cyril, Chesley; sisters: Louisa, Elsie, Eliza, Minnie & Ida. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her six sons: Cyril (Bernie), Nelson (Doreen), Bert (Margaret), Raymond (Elizabeth), Addison (Irene) and Ernest (Wendy); two daughters: Linda (Cyril) and Daisy (Tom); daughter-in-law Joyce; 22 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren., also, brother Elijah; sisters: Mary and Effie and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Family will be receiving friends at Stacey’s Funeral Home, 60 Roe Avenue, Gander on Sunday February 12, 2017 from 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm from where visitation will continue at the Holy trinity Anglican Church, Wings Point , Monday February 13 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday February 14, 2017 from the Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Wings Point at 11:00 a.m. officiated by Reverend Gerald Giles with interment to follow at the Anglican Cemetery, Victoria Cove. As expressions of sympathy , flowers are graciously accepted, donations in Gertrude’s memory may be made to the Holy Trinity Anglican Church Memorial Fund or to the Diabetic Association Funeral Arrangement have been entrusted to Stacey’s Funeral Home, Gander/Carmanville, to leave an online condolence please visit our website at www.staceysfuneralhome.ca
